Noblesville Rodent ControlMany times people discover the grotesque waste matter of rats and mice which leads them to immediately suspect a rodent issue. You are likely right if you are facing this same scenario. You won’t commonly find just one rat or mouse as they prefer to stick together with others so even if you have only spotted one so far, you can be certain that others are hiding, slowly and silently destroying and contaminating your property.

No longer can you consider seeing a little mouse once or twice in a blue moon because they can transmit diseases and you don’t need to have an infestation to be at risk for exposure to these harmful diseases.

  • Hantavirus Pulmonary Syndrome
  • Hemorrhagic Fever with Renal Syndrome
  • Lassa Fever
  • Leptospirosis
  • Lymphocytic Chorio-meningitis (LCM)
  • Omsk Hemorrhagic Fever
  • Plague
  • Rat-Bite Fever
  • Salmonellosis
  • South American Arenaviruses
  • Tularemia

That list consists of the diseases rats and mice can carry according to the CDC. Even if the rodents on your property aren’t currently infected or carrying anything, you still don’t want them destroying and leaving filthy waste matter everywhere. They chew on pretty much anything either to keep their teeth sharp or because they are near to discovering food; other side of a wall, for instance.

These rodents are great squeezers and can fit through the tiniest of holes or gaps. You will want to thoroughly inspect your home for possible holes or gaps that are allowing the mice or rats in so you can have them sealed up appropriately. Our Noblesville rodent professionals can help you do this when we come to inspect the property to determine the best approach for treating the issue.

Common areas to find these holes and gaps inside your home include:

  • Inside of, underneath, and/or behind cabinets, refrigerators,  stoves and other appliances.
  • Closets – typically the corner of the floor.
  • Around doors, plumbing, washing machines, fireplaces, furnaces and hot water heaters.
  • In basements, attics and crawl spaces.
  • In floor drains; laundry or basement.
  • Between/inside floors and walls.
  • Floor vents and dryer vents.
  • Inside the attic.

Mice are fast little creatures and can climb extremely well so every floor of your home will need to be inspected. The outside is important because there could be holes or gaps that you haven’t yet noticed and are allowing unwanted pests to enter. If you’re hearing the rodents at night, you might be able to better pinpoint where they are, but they can easily move on come morning time.

Some good places to look for holes and gaps on the outside of your home include:

  • Attic and crawl space vents.
  • Gables, eaves and rafters.
  • Holes or openings around pipes, gas lines, electrical lines and cables.
  • Around doors and windows.
  • Around foundations.
  • Underneath doors.

Our Noblesville rodent control experts are here to assist you with the rodents currently trying to take over your property but we can also help and advise on keeping the rodents out for good. Call (317) 494-7315 today to learn more.
