Critter Control of Bloomington Introduce
Introduction / Overview
Critter Control of Bloomington stands as a highly specialized resource for Indiana residents facing issues with nuisance wildlife. Part of the nationwide Critter Control network—an industry pioneer in wildlife control since 1983—the Bloomington office is committed to protecting people, property, and the wildlife itself through safe, effective, and humane management strategies. Unlike traditional exterminators who may only focus on insects, Critter Control concentrates on vertebrate pests such as raccoons, bats, squirrels, and rodents that commonly invade homes and businesses throughout the Southern Indiana area.
The core philosophy is simple: "Get Them Out. Keep them Out.™" This involves a comprehensive three-step process: detailed inspection, humane removal, and permanent exclusion and repair. Their specialized technicians, often referred to as Certified Wildlife Specialists, utilize industry-leading techniques like one-way exits and strategic trapping to remove animals humanely and ethically, adhering to all state laws and regulations. This focused, expert approach is particularly crucial in a place like Indiana, where bats in the attic or raccoons in the chimney are frequent and complex problems requiring more than just a quick fix.
The team members, including professionals like Chad, Phillip, Rakan, and Steven, are frequently praised by customers for being "great to work with," "responsive, knowledgeable, efficient." They provide a vital service, offering not just removal, but also the necessary repairs like Bat Exclusion and Attic Sanitation to guarantee that the issue is solved for the long term. This comprehensive suite of services ensures that local homeowners receive a complete solution, restoring safety and peace to their personal space.

What is Worth Choosing
For Southern Indiana homeowners, choosing Critter Control of Bloomington is valuable primarily for the deep specialization in wildlife control—a necessary focus given the density of raccoons, squirrels, and bats in the region. Their humane, ecologically sound approach is a major draw, ensuring that property is protected without resorting to harsh or unethical methods. The guarantee on their exclusion work provides peace of mind, confirming that the substantial investment in a solution, often involving thousands of dollars for full exclusion and attic restoration, will yield long-term results. The positive feedback on the professionalism, knowledge, and efficiency of the field team members is a strong indicator of the quality of the service delivered on site.
However, potential customers must weigh these benefits against some documented inconsistencies in the non-field aspects of the business. One detailed customer experience highlighted significant issues with administrative communication and scheduling—appointments were frequently cancelled or rescheduled without prior notification, and the customer was not informed that they did not need to be home for certain services, leading to wasted time. Furthermore, a highly concerning instance of mixed messaging occurred regarding the initial diagnosis, with different personnel offering conflicting reports on the type and activity level of the animals in the attic. This inconsistency in diagnosis, even if the eventual solution was effective, led the customer to spend a significant amount ($2,000) while questioning the true necessity of the work.
Therefore, while the core service—the actual removal, exclusion, and repair performed by the specialist technicians—is highly regarded and guaranteed, Indiana residents should take proactive steps to ensure clear communication: confirm appointments proactively, ask specifically about the need to be present, and request comprehensive, consistent documentation of the initial inspection and confirmed critter activity. If you prioritize guaranteed, expert, and humane long-term solutions for major wildlife intrusions and are prepared to be vigilant about scheduling logistics, Critter Control of Bloomington remains a leading choice in the Indiana market.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1Everyone I interacted with was extremely friendly; however, scheduling and communication was very lacking. Several times, they would schedule or cancel and reschedule the service appointment without telling me. I would be working from home waiting for them, and they wouldn't show. Or I would receive a message the day before telling me that they would be there the next day; however, I would have to cancel I need to plan in advance when I'm working from home. It turns out for some of the services you don't have to be home, this was also not told to me after we had rescheduled about 4 or 5 times.Additionally, some mixed messaging as to what critters were in my attic. The first respective told me there was very recent racoon feces and I had active raccoons. When the techs came out to install a one-way exit and block all other exits, I was told there were no raccoons (they told me the feces was very old) and maybe it was squirrels. I'll admit I do sometimes wonder if there were really any animals up there to begin with.I spent 2k on this. I don't think I'll be using them again.
July 07 · Meg HunterChad, Phillip, Rakan, Steven, and the call center Professionals were all great to work with. Critter Control was a great choice for our bat problem.Responsive, knowledgeable, efficient.
March 25 · JimmyOne-way door installed to prevent raccoons from re-entering. Was told they would all leave after 3 days as this was the period they could go without water. After 14 days still hearing them in attic. Upon visual inspection where door installed I observed a new hole was created directly below the door’s cage. A Critter Control technician came out and discovered the one-way door was installed incorrectly. It was crooked and would not permit the door to be opened for the raccoons to exit. This caused them to create the second hole to get in and out through. After correcting the alignment so the door functioned correctly we noticed after 3-4 days we were no longer hearing them in the attic. The technician was supposed to return after 7 days to remove the one-way door and seal the original hole. After 3 weeks tried to contact Critter Control scheduler. They did not answer their phone and their voicemail box was full. Texted them asking to get work completed. After another week without hearing from them tried to call salesperson we originally worked with. Again, no answer and voicemail full so texted them. Call was returned a few hours later. They told me the schedule was off on workman’s comp, and may have even left the company, and that they themselves had been in an auto accident so both their jobs were being done by regional manager. As they were doing three jobs the salesman said that I probably would not hear back yet that day as is normal, but to give him some grace in getting back to me the following day. Tried calling regional manager, had to leave voicemail. Regional manager finally got back 3 business days later. He informed me a technician would be here on Wednesday to remove the one-way door, seal the hole it was protecting, and correct the patch job done on the hole created due to the original improper installation. Got another call from him on Wednesday late afternoon informing me the technician was scheduled to come Thursday. Technician on Thursday was very good, patching original hole and correcting poor patch job done on second hole. The company did not have good communication with me throughout this process and the original installation actually caused more damage instead of eliminating the raccoons. Also, we were told upon signing the contract our credit card would be charged half when the work began with the remainder being do upon completion. Turned out this definition of complete was when the one-way door was installed, not upon completion of the entire process. We believe this was misleading and also may have taken away the urgency to perform the final work as they already had our money.
June 19 · John MasengaleI would give them a zero if I could I had an appointment scheduled yesterday. I was told he would be here between 4 and 6 They even sent me a reminder text for yesterday. I was home all day, and waited and no-one called or showed and when I called the office, they told me they can reschedule me, but not til next week I already waited a week for this appointment. Seriously poor customer service had they just called and said we’re running late or we can’t make it something but no they just stand you up.
July 03 · Karen EricksonVery knowledgeable, hard working. Put a plywood/hardware cloth screen around the bottom of my shed. They think that it could well have been some critters underneath my shed, digging out paths and tunnels and or water. Whichever I doubt any, Critter will get through now and they made it so water can flow through if necessary. It looks good.
