Etown Exterminating Company, Inc. presents a strong case for local patrons in Elizabethtown and the wider Hardin County area who prioritize a deep community history and a personalized touch. Being a family-owned business established in 1976, their nearly five decades of experience in Central Kentucky means they possess unparalleled local knowledge about the pest pressures unique to the region. Many customers praise the professionalism, helpfulness, and dedication of individual technicians, with one review specifically highlighting a technician named Kelly as doing a "great job" and being dedicated to his work. Furthermore, their commitment to Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for both residential and diverse commercial properties—including sensitive locations like hospitals and schools—demonstrates a sophisticated and preventative approach to pest control that is essential for long-term protection.
However, prospective clients must carefully consider the serious negative feedback that raises concerns about reliability and crisis management. The review concerning the yellow jacket infestation highlights a critical service failure: an initial misidentification by the exterminator, followed by an inability to return and correct the mistake until the next business day, leaving the family with a dangerous stinging insect problem over an entire weekend. The claim that the company did not respond to texts or calls for emergency assistance over that period is particularly alarming, directly contradicting the company's stated feature of team members being "on call day or night." This experience suggests that while routine monthly or quarterly service may be reliable, the responsiveness and accuracy of the company in emergency or complex situations may not meet the expectations set by their marketing or their long-standing reputation. Customers requiring services for stinging insects or other urgent matters should clearly verify the availability and guaranteed response time of emergency services before committing, as dependability in a crisis is paramount to a full-service exterminating company.

Etown Exterminating Company, Inc. Reviews
Kelly did a great job and was very helpful and is dedicated to his job. Would be glad to have him for our monthly appointments.
October 01 · jimmy monroeWe called Etown exterminating to come out to our house to investigate a yellow jacket infestation on Friday. Originally the exterminator incorrectly identified them as honey bees, and told us he couldn’t do anything about them. We then had to call a beekeeper who confirmed they were yellow jackets. When we called Etown exterminating back to let them know they were incorrect, they were unable to come back and correct their mistake and help until Monday, leaving us in the house with stinging insects all weekend, which caused a huge amount of stress for our entire household, and injuries to our pets. They also did not respond to any texts or calls for assistance. If they had identified them correctly in the first place, we could have solved the issue before needing to call an emergency exterminating service on Sunday. I would not recommend this company.
October 07 · Melissa AndersonTrey came yesterday and took time to talk to me about the issues I have at my home and how the service is used to maintain my bug free home. I have had this service for a year and no longer have spider problems. The earwigs are no longer a problem in the house and spring ants are gone! He was kind and helpful.
May 06 · Carole LogsdonCompany texted me asking for $114 because my account was “behind on payments.” I pulled up my bank statements and saw that we had been paying every month accordingly and we were not behind. I texted back and sent them a screenshot of the payments. They said they did not see the payments on my account and I needed to call my bank. I called my bank and they agreed that they see the payment coming out every month. I tried to call the exterminator, and they did not answer so I left a message, which no call was returned. Magically, they “found” the payments and applied them to my account. I believe it is very unprofessional for information like this to be handled over text to begin with. This month, they came out to my house without sending a reminder first. This months payment did not come out yet so I contacted them, and they said accidentally removed the wrong card from our account. Extremely disappointed in this company’s customer service.
July 21 · Sarah KabalenBrandon was our Tech and he is amazing. Not only did he complete the service, but he went above and beyond. When he arrived he seen I was struggling to clean off a couple of our vehicles by hand, so he offered the use of his ice scraper. When he came back out I was still there so he helped me to get it done. I appreciated the extra help and he was so nice about it. Brandon is an awesome guy!
