Honeybee Rescue Company Introduce
Honeybee Rescue Company, based in Gilbertsville, PA, is a professional and dedicated local business focused on the vital work of saving honeybees. In an era where pollinator populations are increasingly fragile, this family-owned operation offers a crucial service: the safe, humane, and non-lethal removal and relocation of honeybees from residential and commercial properties. They stand out in the Pennsylvania region for their commitment to bee preservation, prioritizing the health of the colony while addressing homeowner or business concerns about unwanted swarms or established hives.
For Pennsylvania residents encountering a bee swarm or hive, the instinct might be to call an exterminator. However, the Honeybee Rescue Company offers an ethical and environmentally responsible alternative. They are professional beekeepers who understand the delicate nature of a bee colony, ensuring that these essential creatures are not destroyed but instead moved to a suitable new environment where they can continue their crucial role in the ecosystem. This approach is highly valued by customers who wish to resolve a pest issue without contributing to the decline of honeybee populations.
The company was founded as a passion project that quickly expanded due to the growing need for specialized bee rescue services. What began as a beekeeping hobby evolved into a comprehensive, licensed, and insured operation capable of handling everything from simple swarm captures to complex structural 'cut-outs.' This extensive experience, honed over years, allows the team to tackle situations where bees have built a hive inside a structure, such as a wall or ceiling, requiring careful removal of building materials to access and safely extract the colony.
Customers consistently praise the team's professionalism, knowledge, and dedication. As one user noted after a complex hive removal from their dining room ceiling, the team—often including core family members like Ty and Alyssa—was "knowledgeable, careful, and professional," ultimately saving an estimated 50,000 bees and ensuring they were "safely on their way to a new home." Another testimonial highlights the immediate, friendly response to a swarm on a fence and the peaceful, positive approach used to gently vacuum the bees for relocation, underscoring the company’s commitment to both the customer and the welfare of the bees.
This commitment extends beyond just rescue; the company also engages in beekeeping, allowing the salvaged colonies to thrive in local apiaries. By being active beekeepers, they ensure the rescued bees continue their life cycle, contributing to local pollination and honey production. This full-circle process is a testament to their long-term, sustainable vision for their business and for the honeybee population in Pennsylvania.
For anyone in the region dealing with a bee situation, it is important to first confirm the type of insect. Honeybee Rescue Company specializes exclusively in honeybees. Unlike wasps or hornets, honeybees are typically less aggressive when swarming (as they have no hive to defend) and are a protected, vital species that should not be killed. Calling a specialist like Honeybee Rescue Company ensures a quick assessment and the application of humane techniques, offering peace of mind that you are doing the right thing for your property and the environment.

May 03 · sara k. wollIt’s been a journey to rescue the bees who decided to move into our Dining Room ceiling! But we were so pleased to have Ty and Alyssa leading the way, from determining the swarm’s entry point outdoors, to the hive’s location indoors. From start to finish, they were knowledgeable, careful, and professional, and we were grateful for their commitment to saving these essential littlecreatures! The 50,000 (!) bees they removed were soon safely on their way to a new home, far away from our ceiling. Can recommend Honey Bee Rescue without hesitation - not only was the work done flawlessly, we learned a lot about bees as well!
May 06 · renee jamesI highly recommend Honey Bee Rescue Co! When I discovered bees swarming around a third story eave outside my house I called three exterminator companies. None of these were willing to do bee removal. My daughter found the Rescue Company on line. Ty came to assess the situation the afternoon I texted their office on a Friday afternoon. He is very knowledgable about the behavior of bees and the rescue process. He checked outside and inside the house for bee activity. Ty and his assistant came Monday morning and finished by early afternoon. Ty explained the process as they were working and answered any questions I had. Everyone I dealt with was very professional. They do a wonderful job to conserve the honey bees. Plus I was given a free bottle of their honey!
July 26 · Karen LovellA local bee keeper recommended Honeybee Rescue to us when we were searching for a company that could remove a hive of bees that got in through our siding into the wall of our house. Ty answered the phone when we called to inquire and not only was he friendly and extremely knowledgeable, he was able to come out right away to give us an estimate. He communicated with us prior to our arrival, and then when he came to the house (with his mom, who also works with him), he knew exactly how to tackle the issue and explained everything to us in great detail. We were able to have him back 3 days later, on Monday to complete the job. They use some cool technology to determine the extent of the bee population, and they are very careful in their extraction (both with our home and the bees). We learned so much about the life cycle of bees in the process. It was fascinating. They take the bees back to their apiary and put them into a new hive and they save as many bees as possible during the process. The entire job took one day, including the replacement insulation and putting up new dry-wall. They cleaned before they left, and now all we have to do is paint the ceiling. We are so relieved and grateful to Ty and his crew for their care and their calm demeanors throughout- I felt a bit overwhelmed with it all at first, but they truly made me feel at ease! They even shared some goodies with us and our kids. Thank you Honeybee Rescue Company- we can't wait to order some honey!
