Clear communication is essential, especially when dealing with preventative maintenance plans and contract obligations.
Choosing a pest control provider in Central Kentucky is a significant decision, and the best choice hinges on a balance of technical capability, customer service consistency, and transparent business practices. Kentucky Pest Control's extensive list of services—covering everything from the common ant and spider to specialized treatments for termites, rodents, and bed bugs—demonstrates a strong capability to handle the full spectrum of pest issues prevalent in the region. This breadth of expertise is a significant benefit for a busy homeowner.
However, potential clients must carefully weigh this capability against the importance of contractual clarity and cost-effectiveness. Public feedback suggests that while the company is highly visible due to heavy advertising and may project a local, family-owned image, its operational structure and customer commitments should be thoroughly examined. Concerns have been raised regarding the persistence of door-to-door sales tactics, the perceived higher pricing compared to competitors offering similar products, and the difficulty some working individuals have faced in scheduling follow-up services that are convenient for them. Most notably, the issue of being "locked in" to an annual contract with a substantial cancellation fee for early termination is a critical point that requires careful review of the written agreement before signing.
Ultimately, KPC is worth choosing for the Kentucky homeowner who prioritizes a wide range of services, a guaranteed retreatment policy, and a commitment to using eco-friendly products for a comprehensive exterior barrier. For maximum satisfaction, local users are strongly encouraged to contact the company, request a detailed, written breakdown of the entire service agreement—including the full cost, contract length, and all terms of cancellation—and compare it thoroughly against other local exterminators before committing to a long-term relationship. Securing peace of mind means not only getting rid of the pests but also being fully comfortable with the terms of service.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1I’ve interacted with KPC and paid close attention to how they operate. They promote themselves as a small, family-owned local business, but they’re actually part of a larger group based in Omaha. They invest very heavily in advertising, which lines up with how visible they are in the area. From what I observed, compensation and overall value don’t always match the image they project, so it’s worth doing some homework before committing. For anyone considering their services, it helps to know that after your first treatment, you’re typically locked in. Door-to-door reps can be persistent, so always ask for clear written details to review before agreeing to anything and avoid signing at the door. Take your time to review so you don’t feel pressured. The company will sometimes work with you if issues come up, but consistency in communication depends on who you speak with.Pricing is on the higher side compared to other local options that use the same products. Some online reviews may not tell the full story since feedback can be influenced by small incentives. The company’s public responses to reviews often sound automated rather than personal.Customers should also keep in mind that some service situations may involve safety considerations for the technicians, especially if you have pets or other hazards in your home. Observing how carefully procedures are followed and confirming any potential risks can help avoid problems. There are plenty of other options to consider, and it’s worth researching before committing, as not all reviews may reflect the full customer experience.
October 07 · Blake WethingtonCrawling critters, spider Webb’s, centipedes and mice continue to evade the 3 treatments and exterior spray-clean ups done to my home. This company is beyond aggravating to deal with. I call and they want to schedule out again offering to preservice. The first excuse was the contracted employee was not up to their standards. The second time the came- items were wiped away but I continued to see crawling insects and bugs. Asked them to return. It’s a night mare that continues. They can not accommodate working people hours so I’m a month away from my next spray- for clearly a product that is not doing its job. I can not cancel due to there jargon on signing the yearly service contract or I must pay the full enrollment fee of $250 dollars plus some to break the contract. It’s costing $43 a month and NOT WORKING!!! Find another company to deal with and avoid this headache.
June 21 · Ashley ParkerWe moved out to KY from AZ and we’re having a ROUGH time adjusting to and managing the volume of new pests here ourselves. We were lucky enough to answer the door at the right time and meet Jeremiah (one of the nicest sales reps we’ve ever encountered) and have felt lucky every day since!Jesse was assigned to us for our initial treatment and we were absolutely STOKED to see him again today! He is thorough, tidy, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. He answers every question with patience and detail, and even answered questions for/offered some friendly advice to our neighbor while he worked on our yard! If it were possible, we’d recommend Jesse to everyone we know. He’s such a joy to have stop by that we (almost) wish treatments weren’t so effective, just so we’d see him more often 😂. He even took the time to sit with us post-treatment to provide some great outdoor safety tips (trying to avoid using DEET), which we really appreciated (AND he spent extra time with us answering questions about pet safety last round!). Because of him, we felt confident enough to refer the company to my parents, who are already thrilled to hire KY Pest Control despite knowing he won’t personally be their technician (they’re in the Louisville area). That’s the level of trust and confidence he inspires! The team in the office is always lightning fast to get back to us and answer any relevant questions we have. They also worked diligently to meet our needs after our first service (miscommunication on our end, not theirs)! They are routinely a pleasure to work with and their customer service is top-notch.Our experience with this company has been incredible. We’re only a few months into our contract and yard is already usable again (we had a spider infestation and serious wasp problem before) and inside the house we’ve been spider and bug-free ever since a few weeks after our initial flush. This team does everything they can to provide the best possible service/experience and they truly deliver on every promise. Do yourself a favor and don’t sleep on this business!!
August 26 · Traci KRandall was fantastic! He took the time to explain every step of the pest control process and made sure I understood exactly what was being done. He went above and beyond to ensure everything was safe, effective, and thorough. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his customers. Highly recommend!
September 18 · Cali NixI missed reading Greg's text or email to alert me to his presence at my yard (I was busy with other things) and I first saw him spraying the back patio (I WAS aware that someone from Kentucky Pest Control was coming today). He explained what he had completed and what he had not yet finished-- I had told the office I was not interested in treating the interior of my home or any fertilizer outside. We discussed options, most of which I wasn't interested in doing. However, I now have great coverage to keep the bugs out of the house, and the eaves and front porch have no wasps or spiders anywhere near. He left me with several 'bug (and mice) catchers' for my exterior doors and bathrooms. The stickiness inside the catchers will keep them from leaving their new prison. Mice catchers are not needed here, thanks to two busy cats, but just in case one every gets in - it will be 'toast!' I am very pleased with the work done (and the work I chose not to have done). I understand that the price would include the extra options I did not choose, just in case I change my mind later).
