Being a local franchise means technicians are familiar with the area's soil types and weather effects, which allows for precise and timely application of treatments—a critical factor for the success of fertilization and weed control programs in Tennessee’s distinct growing seasons.
Lawn Doctor of West Knoxville provides a full-service range of options designed to tackle every common lawn issue and promote maximum turf health. They provide comprehensive care, handling everything from initial diagnosis to ongoing maintenance, doing all the hard work so you only have to enjoy the results.
- Annual Lawn Maintainer Care Programs: Custom-designed, ongoing treatment plans that include perfectly timed fertilization and weed control applications to keep your lawn healthy and protected year-round.
- Lawn Fertilization: Utilizing quality, slow-release fertilizers tailored to the specific nutrient needs of your grass and the local soil conditions.
- Weed Control: Targeted treatments for broadleaf weeds (like dandelions and clover) and grassy weeds (like crabgrass or Bermuda), with both pre-emergent and post-emergent applications to eliminate existing growth and prevent future problems.
- Core Aeration and Overseeding: Essential services to improve soil density and root growth. Aeration breaks up compacted soil to allow air, water, and nutrients to reach the roots, while overseeding, often done in the fall, uses superior grass seed to thicken the turf and dramatically improve density.
- Exclusive Power Seeding: Utilizing Lawn Doctor’s exclusive equipment, this highly effective service ensures maximum seed-to-soil contact, often resulting in a high germination rate, which is key for successful lawn restoration projects.
- Lawn Pest Control: Protection against common turf-damaging insects found in Tennessee, such as grubs, armyworms, chinch bugs, and sod webworms.
- Mosquito, Flea, and Tick Control: Specialized applications to guard your family and pets against health issues by drastically reducing the population of biting, disease-carrying insects, allowing you to truly enjoy your yard.
- Tree and Shrub Care: Programs to maintain the health and beauty of your entire landscape by providing targeted fertilization and protection for valuable ornamental plants.
- Soil Testing & Treatment Options: Crucial services for diagnosing underlying soil health issues, such as pH imbalances, that must be corrected for any grass seed or fertilizer to perform optimally.
- Complete Lawn Restoration: A total renovation service for severely damaged yards, involving stripping the lawn down and starting fresh with premium seeding and nutrient programs, resulting in a perfect, brand-new lawn.
The dedication to excellence and proven methods are what make Lawn Doctor of West Knoxville a standout choice in the Tennessee lawn care market. Their business model is built around a commitment to customer peace of mind and measurable results.
- Industry-Leading Guarantee: They offer a 100% Satisfaction Guarantee, meaning if you are not completely satisfied with a service application, they will either return and reapply it at no charge or refund the entire cost of your previous application. This provides a risk-free path to a better lawn.
- Custom-Tailored Programs: Every service begins with a free, detailed lawn analysis by a local expert. This ensures that the treatment plan is specifically formulated for your lawn's grass type, soil chemistry, and unique issues, unlike generic, one-size-fits-all services.
- Exclusive Turf Tamer® Equipment: The use of exclusive, patented equipment, particularly for Power Seeding, is a significant advantage, ensuring a much higher germination rate and a denser, more beautiful turf.
- Proven Results: Years of positive customer reviews confirm the quality of their work, citing noticeable improvements in grass density, health, and color after treatments like aeration and overseeding. Customers report that their lawn has "never looked better" after a complete renovation.
- Expert Local Professionals: The company is known for employing knowledgeable, professional technicians, like Jeremy Cotter, who take the time to explain the process and build trust with homeowners, making the customer experience transparent and stress-free.
- Full-Service Pest Management: They offer crucial services that extend beyond simple aesthetics, including perimeter pest control and specialized mosquito and tick control, enhancing the usability and safety of your yard for your family.

Lawn Doctor of West Knoxville Reviews
If you have been on the fence about doing a lawn restoration, take my advice and make it happen. I can’t tell you how amazing of a job Lawn Doc did on our yard restoration. We had both the front and back yard stripped down to the soil and started fresh. The end product was perfect! Having our kids enjoy the nice green lawn was the icing on the cake. Jeremy Cotter walked us through the whole process and we couldn’t be happier!
August 06 · Chris Elliott (STARK65)Lawn Doctor is an excellent company and has served us well for 14 years. They use quality fertilizers and weed control products. This is a full service company. I highly recommend them. This is a picture of our lawn. It is really thick because I had Lawn Doctor aerate and over seed our lawn last fall and it made a huge difference in the density of the grass.
May 17 · Richard ParkhillI'm tired of calling and nothing getting done about this. SAFETY must be LOW PRIORITY at Lawn Doctor. I called the first two times I witnessed this situation but they still haven't changed their training or policy because here we are again. This company parks left wheels to the curb and opens doors and ramps on the right side of the vehicle out into the middle of the street nearly blocking half the roadway where they leave them as they perform yard treatments. This recent sighting (photos included charter #1438) was at a challenging intersection and the technician was four houses (about 350 feet) away working on a separate yard. There are no safety cones, the driver is illegally parked, and the vehicle is open to anyone passing by just taking chemicals out of the vehicle (children included) since the rear doors are also left open. It looks like the ramps and access were designed to go right onto the sidewalks or curb keeping the operator out of harms way. Unfortunately, they are not being used as intended. They should have just installed the ramps at the rear of the vehicle since they obviously don't realize they are not the only ones using the road. DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS ALREADY!!!
August 17 · xplmr1This is an initial posting but so far a 5. I am undergoing a lawn renovation and have had my 1st spraying. It killed all the weeds and lawn as they said it would. I had to start with a renovation as my yard was in bad shape, despite the fact I had Tru Green taking care of it (whole other story there..1 star max for them). I'll keep this updated as my services progress.Update (12-6-22) after renovation and power seeding: So far excellent progress! They killed off my old lawn as promised after just one time and even showed up a 2nd to make sure it was dead. Next came the power seeding and bingo a few weeks go by and we have a pretty dang good looking lawn already. I do have some spotty areas, and was told I might need another power seeding come next fall, but overall it is 100 times better then what I had. Extra kudo's to the owner who came out unannounced just to check on my lawn and how it was coming along. We are looking forward to a new year and services with Lawn Doctor to get our lawn looking its best.Update April 2023- my front and side yard looks excellent, as well as the majority of my back yard. We have one section that is particularly Ricky with small rocks which we will have power seeded again in the fall. Otherwise so far great results..the 1st pic is of lawn with the main rivalry a company that ends in Green...2nd and 3rd picture is same lawn by Lawn Doctor.
April 19 · Steven GordonTerrible service. They keep coming out when you tell them not to. Also have caught them skipping parts of my yard. My account has been paid and I asked for service to stop in 2024, I hired another company. Then, they showed up again and serviced my property with the same service I’d just had done by the new company. I told the worker to not come again and I was charged. Now turned over to collections for that $67 treatment I didn't need or authorize. Also, they don't accept any responsibility for a bad review. They just blame, blame, blame the customer. Please don't tell me what I say is wrong. I was not happy with your service. My yard was full of weeds and I did call about it regardless of what you say in retaliation. The customer is not always wrong! Your technicians are not always good!
