Absolute Pest Control Introduce
Choosing a pest control company in Michigan is a crucial decision for homeowners and business operators, particularly when dealing with the potential for costly damage from termites, rodents, and other invasive species. Absolute Pest Control, located in Howell, Michigan, presents itself as a local provider of pest control services. However, local Michigan residents should be aware of a collection of severe, published consumer reports and historical business information that raise significant concerns about the company’s operating status and customer service practices.
Public records and detailed customer reviews highlight serious allegations, particularly concerning the company's business practices and the consequences of the services rendered. One report from a homeowner alleges that a pest inspection was performed without the required state licensing and insurance, resulting in a failure to identify over $160,000 worth of termite damage, which was only discovered after the home was purchased. Furthermore, a customer explicitly claimed that the company’s corporate entity was dissolved in 2015 and that the owner, Jeffery Willhite, held no license or insurance at that time, a factor which should be thoroughly investigated by any prospective Michigan client.
The importance of verifying a pest control company’s licensing and insurance in the state of Michigan cannot be overstated, as these credentials are the primary protection for consumers against liability and damage caused by negligence or errors in service. Homeowners, especially those using VA or FHA loans which require licensed and approved inspectors, are strongly urged to independently confirm the current, valid licensing status of the provider through the appropriate Michigan state agencies before contracting any work.

Services Offered
Based on their business type and general public listings, Absolute Pest Control offers a range of residential pest management solutions common to the Michigan market. Features / Highlights
When considering the offerings of Absolute Pest Control, potential customers should weigh the stated service features against the serious consumer feedback received.
Reported Features of the Business Model:
- Variety of Service Plans: Offering tiered service plans (Preferred, Preferred Plus) to suit different levels of infestation and preventative needs for common household pests in Michigan.
- Focus on Common Pests: Providing targeted solutions for the most frequent pests found in the Howell area, including stinging insects and rodents.
- Quick Response Claims: A commitment to being a full-service company capable of handling all pest control needs, though promptness is contested in some reviews.

Critical Consumer Highlights (Based on Public Reviews):
- Unlicensed/Uninsured Allegations: Multiple reviews explicitly and repeatedly state that the business was operating without a valid license or insurance, which is a major consumer risk.
- Poor Communication: Customers report failure to notify them of credit card issues leading to months of missed service, and a lack of transparency regarding service dates and areas sprayed.
- Rude Customer Service: Reviews cite instances of customer service employees being "extremely rude," argumentative, and unprofessional on the phone, leading to immediate account cancellations.
- Failure to Detect Damage: A specific, critical report involves a failed termite inspection that resulted in a new homeowner inheriting significant, costly termite damage.

What is Worth Choosing
When considering Absolute Pest Control in Howell, Michigan, local users should proceed with extreme caution. The primary services offered—general pest, rodent, and stinging insect control—are standard in the industry and widely available from numerous licensed and insured providers across Michigan. What is worth choosing is the peace of mind that comes with a reliable, trustworthy, and accountable company.
However, the highly negative and specific claims in the public domain—particularly those alleging the lack of a current operating license, insurance, corporate dissolution, and severe customer service deficiencies—suggest significant red flags that Michigan consumers should not ignore. The risk of major financial loss due to a deficient inspection, as reported by one customer regarding $160,000 in missed termite damage, is a stark warning. The consistent complaints about rude and uncommunicative staff also indicate a high probability of a frustrating customer experience.
For any necessary home service, especially one involving a legally required inspection or the use of chemical treatments, a Michigan consumer’s primary choice should be a company where all credentials, including state-issued pest control licenses and current liability insurance, can be independently and easily verified. Given the serious and repeated consumer complaints against this specific business, prospective clients are strongly advised to investigate other local, fully credentialed options before committing to Absolute Pest Control.

★ 5★ 4★ 3★ 2★ 1If I could give this company and the owner Jeffery Willhite himself a 0 rating I would. He does not even deserve the one star he is getting. Number one he has NO license and NO insurance so he should NOT be in business. He has not had a license for several years now and his company was dissolved July 15, 2015. (We just recently found this information out.) We purchased our home in October of 2015 with a VA loan and sellers had to pick and pay for our pest inspector. (the sellers were also shady, clearly) He did our inspection in September (WITHOUT A LICENSE OR INSURANCE) although the VA says that who they pick has to be licensed, insured and approved through the VA. Because of this man not doing his job he missed $160,000 worth of termite damage in our home. If you see his name run the other way. He has ruined our lives for the pas year.
August 25 · Kirsten SoulliereIf I could rate this company zero stars I would!!!! The customer service is the absolute WORST I have ever experienced with a home service company. We have been loyal customers on their monthly billing plan for a few years. I noticed we had more bugs than usual so I called and they told me they haven't been out since last JULY because our credit card was expired. I was never notified and had assumed they had been here all along. They said they called once but I didn' get a call or anything in the mail. Anyway, I gave them the new CC# and they said they would be out Tuesday. Didn't come until Thursday (I think). After I realized they had come out, I called to question which services were preformed at our home because I wasn't home when they came to spray (I was specific on the areas I wanted done). No paperwork was left at the door so I wasn't sure I they sprayed where I had requested or not. The employee named Chelsea couldn't tell me so she was going to call me back a few days later which I said was fine. Well, they just called me back and argued with me over the weather and then called me rude to their employee! Really?!?!?!?! I told them to cancel my account and would be finding a new pest control company. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE EVER! Trust me! I am a local business owner and would never treat my customers/clients that way. It is NOT ok. I should have trusted my gut after reading the other reviews on here but I decided to give them a chance. Shame on me.Update:In response to the "owner"….I am not concerned as much about the credit card issue as I am about the way Stephanie spoke to me on the phone! She called me actually and was extremely rude to me as a paying customer…..laughed at me on the phone and then said I was "pretty rude" to your other employee (when I called to give the new credit card info). I thought we had a good conversation too but apparently she did not! And as far as the rain goes, maybe you should call your customers and tell them you won't be out due to rain??? And I still never found out what areas you sprayed. We still have a bee problem. Your communication is terrible and your employees are extremely snotty and rude. In our business, the customer is always right. THAT's how your keep them. Just a tip ; )
May 29 · Amanda SmithThis company has changed drastically. I have been a customer for close to 8 years having them come out once or twice per year. I have recommended them on many occasions to friends and family due to their efficiency and customer service. I recently moved and called them again this year for the new home. They came out twice as the bee/wasp problem persisted. I called again and was told I was going to be charged a whole new treatment even though the bees/wasps have not been taken care of. They used to guarantee their services. Apparently not anymore. I'm very disappointed after all these years of great customer service it has went downhill drastically. The office manager is not of the same caliper of customer service they used to offer. I will have to look elsewhere for a new company.
July 09 · Starr OdetteI cant believe how this company has changed with in a year! Last year when I called I got service very good service, the young lady who came out sprayed my house took her time made sure she did her job, cared about the customers, would have a conversation with him, she was so sweet. Now i cant even get ahold of anyone!!! i got one message back they came out sprayed my house when i didnt even talk to anyone then billed me. they had no idea what i needed done! This company has gone down hill. I wish they would keep the people who cared about there job and customers!
October 16 · Jennifer FishwickIf I could give 0 stars I would...absolutely terrible. I called at 3:00 on a Monday and again at 8:30 on Tuesday because I needed a rush for a closing on Friday. I stated in my message that I had left 2 messages and if I didn't hear back I would have to go through somebody else. She called back and left me a message just to say..."you go through somebody else, we don't need your business!" Are you kidding me?! Call somebody back when they state in the message that it is time sensitive and how about act professionally rather than snotty. Just very bad service.
