Safeway Wildlife Control Introduce
For decades, residents across the Connecticut shoreline and Southern CT have relied on local expertise to handle the inevitable conflicts between people and the region's abundant wildlife. Safeway Wildlife Control, based in Old Saybrook, stands out as a highly trusted, full-service provider in both pest management and nuisance wildlife control. Unlike generic exterminators, Safeway brings a specialized focus to solving issues with native species like bats, raccoons, squirrels, and skunks, while also expertly managing common insect and rodent problems.
The company has been a cornerstone of the community since 1993, driven by the expertise of its owner, Ron Yanyac, a fully licensed Nuisance Wildlife Control Operator (NWCO) for the State of Connecticut, licensed by the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP). This specialized licensing is crucial for adhering to state laws regarding the humane handling, trapping, and relocation of wild animals. Safeway Wildlife Control is committed to professionalism, efficiency, and integrity, offering complete, long-term solutions that prioritize exclusion and prevention over simple removal.
Whether you're dealing with a sophisticated problem like a bat colony in your attic or a sudden emergency like a hornet’s nest near your front door, Safeway is structured to provide a rapid, professional, and reliable response. This owner-operated small business takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship at a reasonable cost, fostering peace of mind for their neighbors across the state.
Safeway Wildlife Control is centrally located in Old Saybrook, CT, making it perfectly situated to serve a wide range of communities along the Connecticut shoreline and throughout Southern Connecticut. Their office serves as the base for dispatching licensed professionals for quick service calls.

Safeway Wildlife Control's long-standing success in Connecticut is due to several key differentiators that local clients value highly:
- Decades of Local Experience: Operating since 1993, the owner, Ron Yanyac, is one of the original Nuisance Wildlife Control Operators (NWCO) in the state, offering unparalleled, time-tested knowledge specific to Connecticut's wildlife and pest pressures.
- Bat Exclusion Specialization: They are specifically known for their permanent solutions to bat issues, including expert bat exclusion and bat proofing work on houses and buildings, providing a long-term solution to colony problems.
- Emphasis on Humane Methods: The company exclusively uses humane live traps for wildlife removal, ensuring that animals are caught and released according to stringent state regulations, demonstrating a commitment to ethical control practices.
- Exclusionary Work for Prevention: Beyond trapping, Safeway specializes in exclusionary work, such as exclusionary fencing for under decks to prevent skunks, raccoons, and woodchucks from setting up dens, and sealing entry points to stop future intrusions.

October 09 · Regina DarrowDiscovered a hornets nest at the second-story roof line of our house. As it was the Saturday before Labor Day, I figured I would have to wait until Tuesday, but decided to call anyway. Ron answered the phone and said he was on his way to Ivoryton and could come to me right after. He was at our house in less than an hour and sprayed the nest. Told me to call if we had any issues. Peace of mind was had, as we are having company on Labor Day! Would definitely recommend!
August 30 · Christen RiedyI had a bee problem. I live in an old house and they must have found a soft spot because they were entering into the window casing. I called Ron and he applied a treatment within the hour. Very dependable and nice person. He will follow up in 2 days to check and retreat if necessary. The problem is in the window on the second floor- not an easy target.

September 17 · Kristen FitzgeraldHighly recommend. Needed a bee nest killed the day before I was having a large number of people over to the house. Ron came over in 30 minutes and sprayed the nest. By the next morning I saw no activity in the nest. Ron was very helpful and more than willing to come help me out. Excellent service and care.
